It’s another year with Bolliver’s Fine Foods & Confections!
Happy New Year everyone! Due to there being no Farmers Markets over the last few weeks, we enjoyed a bit of a vacay from the kitchen. Now we’re back at it, and we’re looking forward to seeing your smiling faces at the Farmers Markets again.
Our Farmers Market schedule is:
- Fort Bragg on Wednesdays, from 3:00-5:00pm
- Willits on Thursdays, from 3:00-5:30pm
- Ukiah on Saturdays, from 9:00-12:00pm
Please remember that you may also come by Chubby’s Kitchen at 890B North Franklin Street in Fort Bragg, Monday through Friday, by appointment. (You are also welcome to drop in, though our hours vary from day to day, because of the Market schedule.
We hope to see you there!
We are featuring the following item this week:
French Onion Soup – Our version of this classic is made from our own roasted beef and vegetable stock, sweet onions and white wine. We suggest adding a splash of cognac or brandy and some Gruyere cheese to the bowl, just before serving. 1 Pint $8.00
Fish Quesadilla Especial – Since these were introduced, they’ve been a big hit, though we haven’t offered them since before Thanksgiving! 2 flour tortillas filled to the edges with roasted Ling Cod, black beans with jalapeno and lime, rice with mixed vegetables, jack and cheddar cheeses, and our Chipotle Salsa. Truly delicious! $10.00
Jambalaya and Creole Sauce – This is a wonderful classic Southern dish, made with spicy Louisiana sausage, prawns, chicken and rice, in a zesty tomato, pork and pepper sauce. The creole sauce that is served separately, is made with peppers, tomato and ham. What a combo – what a flavor! $18.00
Beef Au Vin – An absolutely delicious “stew” made with boneless short ribs that are slow simmered with lots of red wine, onion, tomato, celery and Juniper berries. We recommend serving along with baked potatoes or rice, and steamed carrots or roasted root vegetables. 18 oz $16.00
Fresh Baklava – This ancient Turkish dessert is many peoples’ absolute favorite dessert. There are many variations, but ours is the classic version, with walnuts, lemon, spices and 40 layers of phyllo pastry and butter, and then saturated in a honey lemon syrup. If you’ve never had freshly-baked Baklava, you’re in for a real treat. Also great made into sundaes, by chopping up the Baklava, and serving over vanilla ice cream! 2 Triangles $6.00
We were out of our Sweet and Spicy BBQ Chicken, and we haven’t had our Chinese Chicken Salad Fixings for several weeks – both are back on the menu! We have also been out of a few of our chocolates – the Hedgehogs and Malteds, both of which will be returning this week – to the Farmers Markets and to Harvest Market in Fort Bragg.
Milk chocolate cups filled with a vanilla bean and malt buttercream filling, and capped with white chocolate.
(This is one of our most popular flavors!)
Another one of our most popular chocolates – filled with a roasted hazelnut gianduia ganache. Who could have imagined that hedgehogs could be so tasty?!
I hope to see you soon. Thank you for reading!
